John 1:40-42 (NKJV)
40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone).
Have you signed up for a Small Group?
The church campaign for this Fall Semester is GodQuest. One group is already full so sign up soon. It is going to be great fun. Let me give you some reasons that you need to sign up for one of the Small Groups.
- 1. A Small Group will help you grow spiritually.
- 2. You will connect with others who will love and pray for you.
- 3. These Small Groups do not last forever as they begin the week of October 16 and end in December.
- 4. Groups generally meet for an hour and a half each session.
- 5. GodQuest groups help you answer the big questions about life.
Look at the options that you have in our catalog and choose a group. Let’s go on a GodQuest.
It’s the Adventure of a Lifetime!
Quest: It means to go on a journey in pursuit of something valuable, and in this life, there’s nothing more adventurous than searching for and discovering something, or someone, greater than ourselves. Join one of our small groups as we explore truths and compelling evidence for the existence of God, the beginning of the universe, the reliability of the Bible, the problem of pain and suffering, and the identity of Jesus. It’s a journey you won’t forget!
A recent study by the Barna Group found that 59% of Americans and 40% of born-again Christians believe that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. With the dizzying array of spiritual options, and the increased acceptance of universalism (that all people will eventually go to heaven), is it any wonder that people are confused? This is a wake-up call for churches to focus on the core beliefs of the Christian faith—and on Jesus as the one true path to God.

Beloved teacher Dr. Warren Wiersbe leads the journey through the valleys and mountains of Old Testament kings and queens, illuminating the painful confessions, the anger toward God and the holy desires they modeled for generations to come. It’s the unsalted, vulnerable grit of human experience that gives Psalms its credibility and makes it so valuable for building a real relationship with God.
